Notice of Public Hearing: Public Agency Exemption City of Kalispell
All public hearings take place in the Commissioners' Chambers, located on the third floor of the County Courthouse at 800 South Main in Kalispell, MT.
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Board of Commissioners of Flathead County, Montana, hereby gives notice, pursuant to Section 76-2-402, M.C.A., that it will hold a public hearing to consider a proposal from the City of Kalispell to use public land contrary to local zoning regulations. The 40.0-acre property is located at 230 Cemetery Road in Kalispell, Montana, within the Lower Side Zoning District and is zoned ‘P Public’. The City of Kalispell intends to expand and continue using the property for sewage sludge treatment, management, land application, storage, and disposal activities associated with the City’s wastewater treatment operations to comply with applicable state and federal requirements governing wastewater sewage sludge and wastewater treatment residual management. The subject property is legally described as:
That portion of the Northeast 1/4 of Section 29, Township 28 North, Range 21 West, Flathead County, Montana, described as follows:
Commencing at the center 1/4 corner of Section 29; thence along the west line of the Northeast 1/4 North 0°08'52" West 1288.95 feet to the south line of Cemetery Road; thence along the south line of the road South 89°31'38" East 1352.27 feet; thence South 0°08'52" East 1288.21 feet; thence North 89°33'31" West 1352.26 feet to the point of beginning, containing 40.000 acres of land.

The public hearing will be held on the 13th day of October, 2026 at 10:30 o'clock a.m. in the Commissioners’ Chambers, Third Floor, Courthouse, Kalispell, Montana. At the public hearing, the Board of Commissioners will give the public an opportunity to be heard regarding the proposal.
Written comments are encouraged and will be reviewed by the Commissioners if received prior to the hearing.
