Flathead County Justice Court handles traffic, criminal, civil, and small claims cases, including landlord-tenant and eviction matters.

Initial Appearances on Tickets:
Monday, Wednesday & Friday mornings:
  • Check-in begins at 8:00 a.m. for the 9:00 a.m. session
  • Check-in begins at 10:00 a.m. for the 10:30 a.m. session

 

Jury Duty

If you have been summoned for jury duty, complete your juror questionnaire online. This is the fastest way to respond to your summons.

What We Do

Justice Court handles citations issued by:

  • Montana Highway Patrol — traffic citations
  • Flathead County Sheriff's Office — traffic and other citations
  • Montana Department of Transportation — traffic citations
  • Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks — fish, wildlife, and recreation citations
  • County Animal Control — animal-related citations

The court also handles criminal charges filed by the County Attorney's Office.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Justice Court is to administer and process to completion traffic, criminal, civil and small claims in a judicious and timely manner and to provide the State of Montana and the public accurate records and information regarding these cases.
