Birth certificates
- Certified copies of birth certificates are available through this office for all Montana counties. (For who is allowed to request a birth certificate, see the application below.)
- Genealogy copies are available for Flathead County only — 50¢ each. They cannot be used for identification.
- A certified copy is $8.00 each, in person, by mail, or online. Payment: cash, check, or debit/credit card (3% processing fee).
- Anyone requesting an informational or certified copy must present a valid ID. (For valid forms of ID, see the application below.)

Death certificates
- Certified copies of death certificates are available through this office for all Montana counties from 2003 to the present, and for Flathead County dating back to approximately 1900. Eligibility requirements for requesting a death certificate are outlined in the application linked below.
- Genealogy copies are available for Flathead County only — 50¢ each. They cannot be used for official purposes.
- A certified copy is $7.00 each, in person, by mail, or online. Payment: cash, check, or debit/credit card (3% processing fee).
