NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ABANDONMENT OF PUBLIC ROADWAY NO. 535
40' DECLARED COUNTY ROAD OFF OF WHALEBONE DRIVE
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Viewers have reported to the Board of Flathead County Commissioners on the discontinuance of that certain public roadway in Flathead County, Montana, described as follows:
A STRIP OF LAND, 40 FEET WIDE, BEING 20 FEET ON EACH SIDE OF THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED CENTERLINE, SITUATED, LYING AND BEING IN THE NORTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION 15, TOWNSHIP 28 NORTH, RANGE 22 WEST, P.M.,M., FLATHEAD COUNTY, MONTANA, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS TO WIT:
BEGINNING at the southwest corner of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 15, Township 28 North, Range 22 West, P.M.,M., Flathead County, Montana, which is a found iron pin; Thence along the east One-Sixteenth Line of said Section 15 N01°03’57”E 1229.81 feet to the southeast corner of Tract 1 of Certificate of Survey No. 23133 (records of Flathead County, Montana) and the terminus of this centerline, the R/W lines on each side of said centerline at the points of beginning and termination being lengthened or shortened to intersect the south boundary of said NE1/4 and said south boundary and its easterly extension of said Tract 1, respectively; Subject to and together with all appurtenant easements of record.
Note: Any portion of this 40 foot declared county road abandonment that overlaps with the declaration of Whalebone Drive in no way amends or alters the declared right-of-way for Whalebone Drive.
Notice is hereby given to the petitioners or landowners as disclosed by the last assessment roll of Flathead County, owning land abutting the roadway described above and being considered for abandonment.
The public hearing on this petition for abandonment is scheduled on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 10:15 a.m. in the Commissioners' Chambers, Third Floor, County Courthouse, 800 South Main in Kalispell, Montana. For further information, please call (406) 758-5537.
