NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ANNEXATION TO MARION FIRE DISTRICT
The Board of Commissioners of Flathead County, Montana, hereby gives notice, pursuant to Section 7-33-2125(1)(b), M.C.A., that it will hold a public hearing to consider a petition to annex territory into the Marion Fire District.
WHEREAS, the properties to be annexed are legally described as follows:
Tract 3 of Certificate of Survey No. 21751 consisting of 20.00 acres more or less situated lying and being in the West Half of the Southwest Quarter of Section 12, Township 26 North, Range 25 West P.M.M., Flathead County, Montana; and
Tract 4 of Certificate of Survey No. 21751 consisting of 20.00 acres more or less situated lying and being in the West Half of the Southwest Quarter of Section 12, Township 26 North, Range 25 West P.M.M., Flathead County, Montana; and
Tract 4 of Certificate of Survey No. 22304 consisting of 20.00 acres more or less situated lying and being in the South Half of Section 12, Township 26 North, Range 25 West P.M.M., Flathead County, Montana; and
Tract 5 of Certificate of Survey No. 22304 consisting of 20.00 acres more or less situated lying and being in the South Half of Section 12, Township 26 North, Range 25 West P.M.M., Flathead County, Montana; and
Tract 1 of Certificate of Survey No. 22586 consisting of 100.00 acres of land situated, lying and being in the South Half of Section 12, Township 26 North, Range 25 West P.M.M., Flathead County, Montana; and
Tract 1 of Certificate of Survey No. 21751 consisting of 13.326 acres more or less situated lying and being in the W½SW¼ of Section 12, Township 26 North, Range 25 West P.M.M., Flathead County, Montana; and
Tract 2 of Certificate of Survey No. 21696, a tract of land, situated, lying and being in the Southwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter (SW¼NW¼) and in the Northwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter (NW¼SW¼) in Section 12, Township 26 North, Range 25 West P.M.M., Flathead County, Montana; and
Tract 1 of Certificate of Survey No. 22091 consisting of 9.000 acres more or less situated lying and being in the West Half of the Southwest Quarter of Section 12, Township 26 North, Range 25 West P.M.M., Flathead County, Montana; and
Tract 1 of Certificate of Survey No. 22034 consisting of 11.000 acres more or less situated lying and being in the South Half of Section 12, Township 26 North, Range 25 West P.M.M., Flathead County, Montana.
The Board of Commissioners has received a petition in writing by the owners of 75% of the land of the area to be annexed asking that such area be annexed into the Marion Fire District by transferring the properties as described above into the Marion Fire District.
The public hearing will be held on May 12, 2026, at 9:45 a.m. in the Commissioner’s Chambers, located on the third floor of the Old County Courthouse at 800 South Main Street in Kalispell, Montana. At the public hearing, the Board of County Commissioners will give the public an opportunity to be heard regarding the proposed annexation and will consider a protest petition, if one is presented at the hearing that is signed by a majority of the landowners of the area proposed for annexation, which would prevent the annexation.
