From Planning to Execution: Welcoming Our New Owner’s Representative to the Safety Facility Team
As we move toward the spring groundbreaking of our new Public Safety Facility, you may have heard a new term circulating in our project updates: the Owner’s Representative.
While "Owner’s Representative" (OR) sounds like technical jargon, the role is actually one of the most vital safeguards for Flathead County taxpayers. Essentially, the OR serves as the County’s professional advocate. Their sole mission is to protect our interests, manage risks, and ensure that every decision made by design and construction teams aligns perfectly with the County’s goals, budget, and schedule.
Introducing In2itive Architecture
We are excited to announce that we have selected In2itive Architecture to fill this critical role. Based in Missoula and led by Principal Architect Marie Wilson and Dan McGee, In2itive brings nearly two decades of experience in navigating complex Montana projects.
They are known for balancing high-level creativity with the technical grit required to keep projects on track. As our OR, they will act as our day-to-day eyes and ears on-site, overseeing:
- Cost Control: Ensuring we get the best long-term value for every dollar.
- Quality Assurance: Monitoring construction to meet the highest standards.
- Schedule Management: Keeping the project moving toward our targeted milestones.
Where We Stand Today
The project recently hit a major milestone: Elevatus completed the 50% construction documents. This means the building’s layout and structural systems are now largely defined. We have also spent the last several months in "value engineering"—a process of refining materials and systems to ensure durability and operational efficiency for years to come.
What’s Next?
Financing is also falling into place. The Board of Commissioners considered the bond issuance resolution on February 12, with bond sales expected in mid-April. This keeps us right on track for bidding this spring and a groundbreaking in late May or June.
We are transitioning from planning to execution, and with In2itive Architecture on our team, we are confident this facility will serve Flathead County with excellence and fiscal responsibility.
