Any domesticated animal that has bitten a human must undergo a 10-day rabies quarantine. See Flathead County Rabies Quarantine Options for more information.
Owners of animals that are deemed dangerous to the public and/or have a previous bite history have the option to surrender to the Flathead County Animal Shelter for humane euthanization. This service has a cost and the animal may be tested for the rabies virus.
