Public Hearing: Mobile/Manufactured Homes & RV Parks and ADU Text Amendments #FZTA-25-02

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

            The Board of Commissioners of Flathead County, Montana, hereby gives notice, pursuant to Section 76-2-205(1), M.C.A., that it will hold a public hearing to consider a request to amend the text of the Canyon Area Land Use Regulatory System (CALURS).

The proposed text amendment would add Section 4.2(E) Project-Specific Performance Standards for RV Parks, amend and add definitions in Chapter 7, including amending the definition for Guest Cottage, and adding definitions for Tiny Dwelling Unit, Factory-Built Housing,  Manufactured Home, RV, and RV Park of the Canyon Area Land Use Regulatory System.

The Canyon Area Land Use Regulatory applies to the Middle and Upper Canyon Areas as defined in CALURS and created under Section 76-2-205, M.C.A. Those standards are on file for public inspection at the Office of the Board of Commissioners, located at 800 South Main, Room 302, the Flathead County Planning and Zoning Office, 40 11^th Street West, Suite 220, Kalispell, Montana, and on the Flathead County Planning and Zoning Office’s website at:  https://flathead.mt.gov/department-directory/planning-zoning/documents-online. Documents related to the proposed amendments to the regulations are on file for public inspection at the Office of the Board of Commissioners, at the Flathead County Planning and Zoning Office, and on the Flathead County Planning and Zoning Office’s website at:  https://flatheadcounty.gov/department-directory/planning-zoning/draft-documents.

The public hearing will be held on the 30^th day of October, 2025 at 10:15 a.m. in the Commissioners’ Chambers, Third Floor, Old Courthouse, Kalispell, Montana. At the public hearing, the Board of Commissioners will give the public an opportunity to be heard regarding the proposed change to the text of the Flathead County Zoning Regulations.

            Written comments are encouraged and will be reviewed by the Commissioners prior to the hearing if received by the Flathead County Commissioners’ Office at least three business days prior to the hearing.
