NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
CREATION OF RURAL FIRE DISTRICT
The Board of Commissioners of Flathead County, Montana, hereby gives notice, pursuant to Section 7-33-2102, M.C.A., that it will hold a public hearing to consider a petition to create the Star Meadows Fire District.
The properties to be within the district are legally described as follows:
A TRACT OF LAND, SITUATED, LYING AND BEING IN SECTIONS 10, 11, 14, 15, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 AND 26, ALL IN TOWNSHIP 31 NORTH, RANGE 23 WEST, P.M.,M., FLATHEAD COUNTY, MONTANA, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS TO WIT:

The Board of Commissioners has received a petition in writing by the property owners of 74% of the total acreage and representing 65% of the total taxable value of the property within the proposed district boundaries asking that such area be formed into the Star Meadows Fire District by creating the Star Meadows Fire District.
The public hearing will be held on December 16, 2025, at 10:15 a.m. in the Commissioners’ Chambers, located on the third floor of the Old County Courthouse at 800 South Main Street in Kalispell, Montana. At the public hearing, the Board of County Commissioners will give the public an opportunity to be heard regarding the proposed annexation and will consider a protest petition, if one is presented at the hearing that is signed by a majority of the landowners of the area proposed for annexation, which would prevent the annexation.
