Teacher Services helps school district employees, substitutes, volunteers, bus drivers, and educators complete local fingerprinting, background check, and certificate registration steps.

Fingerprinting & Background Checks

By appointment only.

We provide fingerprinting and background check services for teachers, school employees, substitutes, volunteers, and bus drivers within school districts.

  • Employee fingerprinting: $33
  • Volunteer fingerprinting: $28
  • Bring a valid driver license or other photo identification.
  • Check with your district to confirm whether they cover the cost.

If your fingerprints are for OPI teacher certification or another special purpose, contact us before your appointment so we can confirm what you need to bring.

Teacher Certificate Registration

No appointment necessary.

Bring your original teacher certificate to the Superintendent of Schools office to register it with Flathead County.

  • We seal and stamp the certificate.
  • We register it in our local database.
  • We keep a copy for our records.
  • You receive a copy to provide to your district.

Renewal and new license applications are handled through the Montana Office of Public Instruction.
