Report emergencies immediately
Call 911 if a crime is in progress, someone is in danger, or immediate law enforcement response is needed.
What the Detective Division Does
Detectives investigate serious and complex criminal cases that may require additional follow-up beyond the initial patrol response. These investigations may include theft, fraud, burglary, robbery, sexual assault, homicide, crimes against children, and other major criminal cases.
Detectives work closely with patrol deputies, other law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, victims, witnesses, and community members. Investigations often rely on detailed interviews, careful documentation, evidence review, and coordination with partner agencies.
Investigation Support
The Detective Division assists with follow-up investigations, interviews, crime scene processing, evidence assessment, forensic documentation, and other casework that supports criminal investigations.
Detectives may also assist with proactive crime prevention, community education, agency coordination, and background investigations as assigned by the Sheriff’s Office.
