Eligibility & Cost for Services
We provide programs and services to Flathead County residents aged 60 or older and to their family caregivers. We can also help you connect with services and benefits provided by other organizations. Give us a call or send us an email to get started!
Individuals are invited, but not required, to donate to help cover the cost of the services they receive.

Caregiver Support
We offer support to family caregivers through respite, information on educational opportunities and support groups, Alzheimer's and dementia resources, as well as aging life care planning and dementia navigation support in partnership with local certified professionals. Meals on Wheels
This is a service that provides a hot, nutritious mid-day meal delivered by volunteers to an adult over 60 who is homebound (unable to leave their home without assistance), or an eligible caregiver caring for an adult over 60. Special diets such as diabetic, low cholesterol or other special needs may be accommodated. For more information call 406-758-5711.

Medicare Counseling & Benefits Assistance
Medicare Counseling
Free consultations and education are provided through monthly classes, appointments with certified SHIP counselors, and online training.Benefits Assistance
Free consultations are provided by staff to determine if an older adult with limited income may be eligible for cost-savings benefits programs. -
Ombudsman Program
An Ombudsman helps residents of long-term care facilities (nursing homes and assisted living facilities), family members, and others understand resident rights and support residents in exercising their rights guaranteed by law. The Ombudsman program serves to monitor the quality of care and life for residents of long-term care facilities. For more information call 406-758-5737.

Referral for Legal Assistance
Agency on Aging refers to a local attorney to offer 30-minute Pro bono (free) counseling sessions on select topics. For more information please call the Agency on Aging office: 406-758-5730.

Social Dining (Congregate Meals)
We provide balanced lunch meals in our spacious dining room at the Agency on Aging at 40 11th Street West in Kalispell, as well as at local senior and community centers (Whitefish Community Center, North Valley Senior Center, Bigfork Senior Center, and Lakeside Gathering Place). These meals offer seniors an opportunity to have a mid-day balanced meal while socializing with others. For people age 60+ we ask for a donation of $4. For guests under 60 years of age, the cost for lunch is $8. Visit our home page for the current month's menu. Veteran Directed Care Program
The Veteran Directed Care Program (VDC) empowers Veterans to hire and supervise care providers (may be a family member) to help with daily needs. This program is a partnership between the Department of Veterans Affairs, who determines eligibility and establishes participant budgets. All VA enrolled veterans, regardless of age, are eligible if they meet the clinical need for the VDC program. Upon referral, an Agency on Aging Care Coordinator will work with the Veteran to develop a self-directed plan of care and will provide ongoing support.
