What We Do:

Healthy Montana Families is here to support you. Our program is grounded in the evidence‑based Parents as Teachers model, which focuses on strengthening families, promoting healthy child development, and empowering parents as their child’s first and most important teacher.

Our professional, trained parent educators work directly with parents and parents‑to‑be to build on family strengths, support goals, and provide research‑based information on child growth and development. Through regular home visits, we help families understand what to expect at each stage of their child’s development, encourage positive parent–child interaction, and connect families with helpful community resources. Our goal is to promote the physical, emotional, and developmental well‑being of both children and their caregivers.

How We Can Assist:

We offer a wide range of support rooted in the evidence-based Parents as Teachers mode, including: 

• Education on prenatal growth and development
• Breastfeeding and nutrition information and support
• Labor and delivery education
• Postpartum guidance and infant‑care support
• Home safety education and “baby‑proofing” strategies
• Developmental information for your child, including:
  • Language development
  •  Motor skills
  • Social‑emotional growth
  • Cognitive development
• Fun, developmentally appropriate activities that support learning at every age
• Activities designed to encourage positive sibling interactions
• School‑readiness support to help your child build early learning skills
• Connections to additional community resources to support family well‑being

We serve moms, dads, grandparents, teen parents, foster parents, and anyone caring for a child from prenatal through age 6. Our services are based on the evidence‑based Parents as Teachers model, providing families with trusted, research‑supported parenting education.
