The 2024–2029 Western Montana Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan includes Flathead County and the cities of Columbia Falls, Kalispell, and Whitefish.
A printed copy of the plan is available by appointment through the Flathead County Office of Emergency Services at 406-758-5560.
Disaster Recovery
Recovery begins after the immediate emergency has passed. It may include cleanup, documentation, repairs, assistance applications, and coordination with local, state, or federal agencies.
Available recovery resources depend on the type of disaster, the level of damage, and whether state or federal assistance programs are activated.
After a disaster
Document damage before cleanup when it is safe to do so. Keep receipts, photos, repair estimates, insurance information, and other records that may be needed for assistance or claims.
Tier II Reporting
Facilities that store hazardous chemicals above reporting thresholds may be required to submit Tier II chemical inventory information under the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act.
Montana uses E-Plan for online Tier II reporting. Flathead County’s older reporting notice says hard copies or email submissions are not required for local submission.
