What Emergency Management Does
Emergency Management is responsible for planning, coordination, and implementation of emergency management and Homeland Security-related activities for Flathead County.
The division also supports the County’s Emergency Operations Center, which may be activated during disasters to coordinate decisions, set priorities, and manage response and recovery resources.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating emergency planning and preparedness
- Supporting response and recovery during incidents and disasters
- Coordinating with local government, responders, private partners, and volunteer organizations
- Supporting Emergency Operations Center coordination when activated
- Coordinating the Northwest Montana Type III Incident Management Team
