Lakeside Community Club Scholarship
Established in 1909, the Lakeside Community Club promotes neighborliness and community cooperation. Its scholarship program, which began awarding in the West Shore area in 2024, supports local residents pursuing post-secondary education. For 2026, awards are at least $1,000 to eligible applicants who are current Flathead West Shore residents or previous Lakeside/Somers students. Recipients must plan to attend a trade school, college, or university (for a certificate, associate, bachelor's, or other degree) and register in 2026.
Required application materials include: two letters of reference from non-relatives highlighting personal achievements and community contributions; a recent school transcript; proof of school admission/acceptance; a resume covering education, community service, extracurriculars, work experience, honors, and recognitions; and a ~250-word written description of future education and career plans.
Deadline: Friday, April 3, 2026. Submit applications via your high school career center/counselor or directly to: Lakeside Community Club, Attn: Scholarship, P.O. Box 481, Lakeside, MT 59922 (or email: carolnelson(at)carolnelsondesign.com).
The application form collects basic contact info, residency/student history verification, high school/GPA details, planned institution (e.g., UM, MSU, FVCC, or other), acceptance status, desired degree/area of study (with 1st–3rd choices), and requires a student signature affirming the information's accuracy. Note that completing the application does not guarantee funding.
