Rural Special Improvement Districts (RSIDs)

A Rural Special Improvement District, commonly called an RSID, may be used to finance and construct public improvements in areas outside incorporated cities and towns. Examples may include road, drainage, or other local improvements that benefit properties within a defined district.

Creating an RSID is a formal process. Property owners should review the county procedures before beginning, because petitions, cost estimates, legal descriptions, maps, notices, and commissioner action may be required.

Fire District Annexation

Property owners may request annexation into a fire district when they want their property formally included within a district's boundaries. Annexation determines which fire district serves the property and may affect district assessments or taxes.

Fire district annexation requires a formal application and petition process. Review the correct form before collecting signatures or submitting materials.
